Val Harrison

Val was a loving father, husband and grandfather (and Great Grandfather). He lived to a ripe old age of almost 97 - a life well lived.
Val was born and raised in Newport, South Wales.
He met the love of his life Eira, and married her in 1950.
Together they had four children, Susan, David, Peter and then a surprise twin to Peter, Steve, who completed their family in 1962.
Val had 7 loving grandchildren and has 2 great grandchildren.
Val was a qualified vet for most of his life and saved many lives in his own practice where he lived above the practice with his children. His children loved helping their father in the practice.
Val loved horse racing and even owned some racehorses in his life.
He also was an avid Birmingham city supporter and loved to watch his team play.
He was the oldest contestant on The Chase at the age of almost 95!
He also appeared in the weakest link in the 90s and also appeared along side his wife, Eira on Treasure hunt, hosted by Anika Rice in the 70s
Val loved playing and watching golf. He was a member of Shirley Golf Club and even when he as unable to play anymore, he would still visit the club every week to visit his friends
